WEI in Venezuela
Michelle Goff, missionary at the East Caracas Church of Christ in Venezuela, is using WEI
materials in the church’s Evangelistic English Classes.
Michelle says, “These classes have grown in size and popularity without any formal
propaganda—only word of mouth invitations. If we were to run ads in the newspaper, we would be
overwhelmed.”

Michelle Goff Teaches WEI Students
Michelle moved to Venezuela to work with Luis and Fabiola Gomez and others in a church
planting in East Caracas. She says, “Through much prayer and study, they decided that offering
free English classes would be a good evangelistic tool to reach the people and show them that
the church not only is looking out for their spiritual well-being, but also is offering other
services based on the needs of the Venezuelans.”
“The first course was offered in January 2004 and started with 22 students. Seven of those
students graduated in March 2005. Now, a new beginner’s class started, with 70 registered
students.”

WEI Student, Jhonny Frias's, Is Baptized
“May God be praised for the way He is working in East Caracas through the church and the
opportunities provided by World English Institute.
“The classes have gained fame and support all over Venezuela as other churches have seen the
success of this ministry and are interested in offering the same classes with the materials of
WEI.”
Partners with Partners in Progress
Bill McDonough, Director of Partners in Progress, had some nice things to say about WEI in his
last newsletter. Bill and Marie Claire have been using our materials in their English Center
in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Bill wrote, “Dick Ady of World English Institute, has done a marvelous job of creating some of
the most effective study material ever designed to teach the Bible to people who speak English
as a second language. . . . We were thrilled with the response of students when we used these
lessons in Eastern Europe, and now they are proving to be just as effective in Southeast
Asia.”
We deeply appreciate Bill’s encouraging words, but we want
to give God the glory. WEI is God’s tool for world evangelism, and he is using it in dramatic
ways. Praise his name!
Building Project in Albania
Erik Qirjaqi, Director of WEI in Tirana, Albania, has just given us some good news.
After two years of legal battles, the squatters who have occupied the second floor of the WEI
training center have been ordered by the court to vacate the premises.
We are now able to remodel the upstairs and provide a meeting place for the church and
additional rooms for Bible classes and leadership training. Some funding is already available
for this remodeling project, but it will be necessary to raise additional funds during the
next year.
Praise God for this exciting development.
International Bible Institute of Albania

We are on schedule for launching a leadership training school in Albania this coming
September. The school will be known as “International Bible Institute of Albania,” and Steve
Stamatis will serve as the first Dean.
Steve reports that eight prospective students have already sent in applications, including one
student from Romania. Bob Patterson has received word that one young man in Kosova wants to
enroll in the school, and his brother is also interested. By the time school starts in
September, we expect to have a good-sized student body.
There are two urgent needs related to the training school:
1. Scholarship funds. We estimate that $300 to $500 a month will provide food, lodging,
and basic personal needs for a student. Would you or your congregation like to sponsor a
student and help train leaders for churches throughout Eastern Europe?
2. Startup funds. First, a temporary teaching facility must be rented. It will probably
be a year before the remodeling project mentioned above is completed. Second, the school must
be equipped with tables, chairs, text books, etc.
In cooperation with Sunset International Bible Institute in Lubbock, I have agreed to be
responsible for raising these funds. Now, the pressure is on.
This training school is vital to the future of the church in the Balkans. WEI has been an
effective tool for bringing people to Christ. Now, IBIA is desperately needed for training
leaders.
Please help us make this leadership training school a reality.
Special WEI Student Baptized
Tom Langley touches our hearts with the following: “As a part of our home school 4th grade
Bible and English curriculum, our daughter Brianna successfully completed the Basic and
Advanced WEI courses. She may possibly be the youngest graduate of WEI. In my humble and
objective opinion, she did have the best WEI teacher I’ve ever observed—her mother.
“It was during this time that Brianna began asking questions and having grave concerns about
her spiritual condition. Eighteen months later, and after many long discussions with Angie and
me, she made the great confession of faith before 450 loving family members here at Maryville.
I had the very special privilege, and moving experience, of baptizing my daughter on Sunday
March 13.”

Message from the Langleys
I’m very pleased to report that we have filled all of our summer teams with teachers, except
the city of Logoj. We are presently looking for 2 week or 4 week teachers to comprise a small
team for Lugoj. We have no teacher commitments at the time of this writing. The dates that we
are now considering are July 18–August 12
Ten teachers are already confirmed for Albania this summer. Five teachers are currently
finishing up a mission in Taiwan. We have recently had discussions with church leaders in
Finland, Colombia, and Brazil about future short-term missions in those countries. WEI
teachers are traveling to Cambodia year around working with Bill McDonough and Partners in
Progress in the English Bible School in Phnom Penh.
For more information about short-term missions, please contact Tom Langley at the WEI Eastern
Office. His email address and telephone number can be found on page one of this newsletter.
Thank You
We want to say thank you to all of our supporters while recognizing two very special church
families in this newsletter.
The Tenth St. Church of Christ in Opelika, Alabama will be sending 15 WEI teachers for the 5th
straight summer to Oradea, Romania. The love they have for the lost, and the commitment they
have to the Christians in Oradea is so clearly demonstrated by their consistent sacrifice of
time, money, and energy.
The North Stafford, Virginia Church of Christ will be sending 14 teachers to the Constanta,
Romania Church of Christ for their first WEI short-term mission. North Stafford and Constanta
consider themselves one family of God, temporarily separated by a little geography.
WEI is honored, grateful, and overjoyed to be partnering with the Tenth St. and North Stafford
churches of Christ in short-term missions this summer. ---Tom and Angie

Message from the Adys
There are three significant developments that we would like to share with you:
1. Our new book, Evidences of God in the Universe, has now been printed and is available for
distribution. In this book, we have attempted to simplify what some of the world’s leading
scientists are saying about the evidence of design in the universe.
The book builds faith and shows the reader how to develop a warm relationship with the one who
created everything for our well-being.
We express our thanks to Jim McPeak and the church in Orangevale, California for printing the
book for us. They are true partners in Christ.
2. If all goes well, by the time you read this newsletter, 300 Bibles will have been smuggled
into Libya and given to the three or four hundred new Christians who live there. Pray for
these brothers and sisters who daily risk their lives for their faith.
3. On June 2, Maudine and I will celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary. For fifty years, we
have been partners in ministry. We have lived in seven cities in two countries. We have been
blessed with children, grandchildren, and a great grandson. We have known joy and sorrow,
laughter and tears, success and failure. Now, we are growing old together. The bloom of youth
is gone, and the aches of “maturity” are upon us. We thank God for bringing us together and
using us to advance his kingdom.
.
Thank You1
Our hearts overflow with gratitude as we count our blessings and think of our generous friends
and partners in Christ. You have given us your hearts as well as your money, and we are
grateful.
There is an ongoing need for funding in this ministry. God keeps opening doors. Thanks for
marching through the doors with us.
May God bless you for your missionary spirit. You are laying up treasures in heaven. We love
you. ---Dick & Maudine Ady
